Creator Guidelines
Welcome, Storyteller
You're here because you have stories to tell. So do we. These guidelines exist to help you understand how to share your creativity with the world while keeping our community safe and thriving.
We believe in you. We believe in the power of interactive fiction to transport, challenge, and inspire. These guidelines are designed to give you the freedom to create while ensuring Forevle remains a place where storytellers flourish.
These Creator Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service.
Our Creative Philosophy
Stories Matter
Great stories explore the full spectrum of human experience. They make us laugh, cry, think, and feel. They take us to places we've never been and show us perspectives we've never considered. Sometimes they're light and joyful. Sometimes they're dark and challenging.
We don't believe in sanitizing fiction. War stories can depict war. Horror can be horrifying. Complex characters can make questionable choices. That's what makes fiction powerful.
Your Responsibility
With creative freedom comes responsibility. You are the architect of the worlds you build. We trust you to:
- •Create stories with intention and craft
- •Rate your content appropriately so readers know what to expect
- •Be a good member of our creative community
- •Follow these guidelines and our Terms of Service
Content Ratings
Every story on Forevle receives an age rating so readers can make informed choices.
How Ratings Work
- •Our systems suggest an initial rating based on your content
- •You must review this rating - if your story contains elements that warrant a higher rating, increase it
- •You can always increase a rating; contact support if you believe a rating should be lowered
- •You are responsible for ensuring your content is appropriately rated
Rating Tiers
| Rating | Suitable For | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|
| All Ages | Everyone | Family-friendly content. No violence beyond cartoon/slapstick, no frightening themes, no mature language. |
| 13+ | Teens and up | Adventure and mild peril. Fantasy violence, mild scary moments, some mature themes handled appropriately for younger teens. |
| 16+ | Older teens and up | More intense content. Realistic conflict, romance, stronger themes, moderate language, complex moral situations. |
| 18+ | Adults only | Mature content. Graphic violence, adult themes, intense horror, strong language, and other content suitable only for adult audiences. |
Content Tags
Stories also receive descriptive tags (Violence, Horror, Romance, etc.) that give readers more specific information about what's included. These are assigned automatically based on your content.
What You Can Create
Encouraged Content
We celebrate stories across all genres:
- •Fantasy & Science Fiction - Build impossible worlds
- •Horror & Thriller - Scare us, thrill us
- •Drama - Complex characters and emotional depth
- •Romance - Interpersonal stories and emotional bonds
- •Mystery & Adventure - Keep us guessing
- •Historical Fiction - Bring the past to life
- •Literary Fiction - Challenge and provoke thought
Mature Themes Welcome
Great literature often explores difficult territory. You can write about:
- •Conflict and violence - War, combat, survival, consequences of violence
- •Complex relationships - Love, loss, betrayal, toxic dynamics, redemption
- •Dark themes - Trauma, addiction, mental health struggles, moral ambiguity
- •Horror elements - Fear, dread, disturbing imagery, psychological terror
- •Challenging topics - Political conflict, social issues, historical atrocities, controversial subjects
The key is purposeful storytelling. These elements should serve your narrative, not exist for shock value alone.
The Storytelling Test
When we evaluate content, we ask: "Is this telling a story?"
A war epic with brutal combat scenes? That's storytelling. A character's struggle with addiction? That's storytelling. A dark romance with morally grey characters? That's storytelling.
Content that exists purely to deliver shocking material with no narrative purpose is different from content that includes challenging elements as part of a meaningful story.
Content That Isn’t Permitted
Purpose of Creation
Forevle is designed for narrative, interactive, and artistic expression. Use of the platform primarily for repetitive consumption, fixation-based content, or personal fulfillment detached from storytelling purpose is not permitted.
This includes material structured around prolonged sensory focus, obsessive repetition, bodily preoccupation, domination or submission dynamics, degradation themes, or other forms of content designed to elicit a narrow personal response rather than convey narrative meaning.
We evaluate content based on overall function and emphasis. Material that operates independently of story progression, character development, or thematic intent—or that shifts the platform away from its creative purpose—may be restricted or removed.
Content whose primary value is derived from personal fixation rather than creative expression is outside platform use.
Protecting Children
The safety of minors is non-negotiable.
- •Inappropriate situations - Content that places anyone under 18 in intimate, suggestive, or adult-themed contexts.
- •Attraction or focus - Treating a person who is or appears to be under 18 as an object of interest or desire.
- •Exploitation risk - Material that encourages, normalizes, or could facilitate manipulation, exploitation, or abuse of children.
These rules apply in all contexts, including fictional or artistic scenarios. There are no exceptions.
Violations will lead to immediate permanent termination and, when applicable, referral to relevant authorities.
Real People
As outlined in our Terms of Service, content depicting real individuals without authorization is prohibited, including:
- •Living individuals - Any person currently alive.
- •Recently deceased individuals - Those who passed away within the last 70 years.
- •All visibility levels - Public figures, celebrities, and private individuals alike.
Exception: Historical figures who died 70 or more years ago or whose likeness is clearly in the public domain.
Facilitating Real-World Harm
- •Weapons creation - Instructions or guidance for making weapons or explosive devices.
- •Illegal substances - Explanations of how to manufacture prohibited drugs.
- •Violent promotion - Praise or encouragement of terrorism or mass violence.
- •Targeted harm - Content that encourages violence against specific individuals or groups.
- •Privacy abuse - Sharing private or sensitive information to enable harassment or intimidation.
Illegal Content
- •Unlawful material - Any content that violates applicable laws, including criminal threats, trafficking-related activity, or child protection violations.
Content Visibility
Public Stories
Stories submitted for public listing are reviewed before publication. We look at:
- •Appropriateness of rating - Is the content properly rated?
- •Narrative quality - Does it function as a story?
- •Guideline compliance - Does it follow our rules?
Not everything submitted will be approved for public listing. We curate our public library to ensure quality and appropriateness.
Private & Unlisted Stories
You have more flexibility with content you keep private or share only via direct link. However, all content must still comply with our absolute prohibitions (child safety, real-world harm, illegal content).
Content That Remains Private
Some material is allowed on the platform but is not appropriate for public discovery or promotion due to how it may be perceived outside of its original context.
- •Context-dependent material - Content that relies heavily on shock, discomfort, or provocation rather than narrative or informational value.
- •Disturbing themes - Material involving graphic injury, extreme emotional distress, body horror, or other unsettling elements, even when fictional.
- •Limited-audience concepts - Content intended for a narrow or private audience that may be misinterpreted or misconstrued in a public setting.
- •Curatorial discretion - Edge cases that, while permitted, do not align with public library standards and require individual review.
This content may be created and stored for personal use but will not appear in public listings, search results, recommendations, or featured placements.
Working with AI
Our AI Systems
Forevle's AI helps bring your stories to life. You provide the creative direction; our systems generate visuals, dialogue, and interactive elements based on your inputs.
Your content is not used to train our AI models. We use third-party AI services to generate content based on your inputs. These services process your prompts to generate outputs but do not train on your content. If we ever offer an AI training contribution program in the future, it will be entirely opt-in. For full details, see our AI Disclosure.
Your Role
- •Direct with intention - Your prompts and inputs shape what's created
- •Review outputs - Check that generated content matches your vision
- •Report issues - If something unexpected is generated, let us know
- •Don't circumvent safeguards - Our AI has guardrails for good reasons
Shared Responsibility
We've built safety measures into our AI. But no system is perfect.
If our AI generates something unexpected that doesn't match your intent, report it. You won't be penalized for good-faith reports of unintended outputs.
If you see problematic content and choose not to report it—or deliberately publish it—you assume responsibility.
Quality Standards
For Public Stories
Our public library is often a user’s first impression of Forevle. Content published publicly is expected to meet baseline quality and presentation standards.
- •Narrative clarity - Coherent stories with clear creative intent and internal consistency.
- •Functional experience - Interactive elements that work as intended and contribute meaningfully to the experience.
- •Platform representation - Content that reflects the quality, creativity, and tone we want associated with Forevle.
Content that will not be approved for public listing includes:
- •Low-effort submissions - Spam, mass-produced material, or content generated without meaningful curation.
- •Unrefined output - Raw or unedited AI-generated content lacking creative direction or authorial intent.
- •Non-functional material - Gibberish, broken interactions, or experiences that do not operate as described.
- •Placeholder content - Tests, drafts, or temporary submissions not intended as finished works.
For Private Stories
Private content is a space for experimentation, iteration, and exploration. You are free to test ideas, mechanics, and concepts that are not ready or intended for public release, provided they remain within our absolute content prohibitions.
Creative Works & IP
Original Content
We strongly encourage the creation of original stories, characters, and worlds. Original works are eligible for public listing, featuring, promotion, and—when available—monetization.
Derivative Works
Content based on existing franchises, characters, or intellectual property may carry legal and distribution limitations. We do not provide guidance or determinations regarding fair use or copyright compliance.
- •Creator responsibility - You assume full responsibility for any legal or rights-related issues.
- •Limited visibility - Derivative works are not eligible for featuring, promotion, or monetization.
- •Public listing restrictions - Such content may be restricted or declined for public discovery.
- •Rights holder actions - Content may be removed upon request by the rights holder.
Creating original content is the most reliable way to ensure long-term visibility, stability, and creative freedom on the platform.
Being Part of the Community
The Core Expectation
Act in good faith. Treat others with respect, fairness, and basic human decency.
What This Looks Like in Practice
- •Constructive participation - Offer feedback that helps creators improve rather than discouraging them.
- •Respectful engagement - Disagreement is welcome; hostility and personal attacks are not.
- •Fair use of systems - Interact with rankings, ratings, and features honestly.
- •Responsible reporting - Report genuine issues, not personal grievances.
Unacceptable Behavior
- •Harassment or targeting - Bullying, intimidation, or coordinated attacks against others.
- •Privacy violations - Sharing or threatening to share private or identifying information.
- •Manipulative activity - Coordinated campaigns intended to suppress, inflate, or undermine others.
- •Deceptive conduct - Spam, scams, impersonation, or misleading behavior.
- •System abuse - Misuse of reporting tools or platform mechanics.
- •Ban evasion - Creating or using alternate accounts to bypass enforcement.
When Things Go Wrong
How We Evaluate Issues
We aim to respond proportionally and thoughtfully. Not all violations are equal, and context matters.
- •The nature and severity of the issue
- •Whether the behavior was intentional or repeated
- •Your prior history on the platform
- •Your response once notified
Possible Outcomes
- •Guidance - Clarification or education for minor or first-time issues.
- •Content changes - Adjustments to ratings, visibility, or access.
- •Feature limitations - Temporary restrictions on publishing or platform features.
- •Account suspension - Time-limited loss of access.
- •Account termination - Permanent removal for serious or repeated violations.
Immediate Enforcement
Certain violations may result in immediate permanent termination, including:
- •Content that endangers or exploits minors
- •Content that facilitates real-world violence or harm
- •Deliberate repeat violations following prior warnings
Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, contact [email protected] with “Appeal” in the subject line and include relevant details for review.
Reporting Issues
Reporting Concerns
Use the Report feature to flag:
- •Content that violates these guidelines
- •Inappropriate user behavior
- •Technical issues or bugs
After You Report
- •Reports are reviewed by our team
- •Appropriate action is taken when warranted
- •Specific outcomes are not always shared due to privacy considerations
Misuse of Reports
Submitting false or malicious reports to harass others or suppress content may result in action against your account.
Looking Ahead
Creator Programs
We may introduce programs that allow creators to earn from their work. Additional terms will apply, and not all content permitted on Forevle will necessarily be eligible.
Policy Updates
These guidelines may evolve as the platform grows. Significant changes will be communicated. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated guidelines.
Questions?
If you’re unsure about something:
- •Review these guidelines
- •When uncertain, choose a higher rating rather than a lower one
- •Contact [email protected] for clarification
We prefer answering questions early over resolving issues later.
